However, despite the Storm‘s consistently superior performance, Brisbane Broncos and Fox League pundit, Gorden Tallis, holds a confident belief that the unlucky spell will be conquered come Friday night.
In jest, Tallis distanced himself from any association to the team’s losing history with the Storm, commenting, “I didn’t participate in it”.
He continues, “All I know is that the current Broncos team would also have overpowered their counterparts from the past 13 years. This group is the most formidable they’ve had since their last championship win. The prospect of ending the losing streak against the Storm brings excitement and generates a lot of discussion, but as a player, these sorts of statistics don’t typically bother me.”
Finding the roots of the Brisbane team’s continued defeats against the Storm might lead to various reasons, but, as he stated, “this can be completely overturned come Friday night and then such conversations need not occur.”
“There’s no question that Reece Walsh is the key player for this series,” insists Tallis. For Walsh, a hoodoo is nothing to be feared as he had humorously admitted not knowing the term’s meaning during an interview.
However, the Broncos‘ side will not include winger Corey Oates, raising questions about the player’s longevity within the club. Tallis conveyed his conviction that no one player lays claim to a jersey and a player like Oates must demonstrate his value daily, lamenting his frequent recent injuries.
When asked whether the Broncos could secure their first premiership in seventeen years, Tallis responded affirmatively, reasserting his confidence in the current team.
