Many potential suitors, attracted by his experience and ability in the middle, are likely to show interest in him. Lodge had been in talks with the Roosters to extend his contract; however, they fell through and unlikely to resume as the club has signed several vital middle forwards.
Jared Waerea-Hargreaves signed a new one-year deal, and Spencer Leniu from Penrith will join the club next year. The Roosters have lost Fletcher Baker to the Broncos, but Lindsay Collins is a major part of their upcoming plans. Retaining four star middles is problematic for the club, given the big-name players already on their books.
On Tuesday, Lodge said, “I think I’ll be heading on at this point.”
Lodge signed a discounted deal to join the Roosters last year and was anticipated to stay there for the long term, but events have unfolded to change that.
