Joseph Manu, the Roosters‘ standout player, has been officially ruled out of the highly anticipated final clash with the Rabbitohs this Friday. This is a significant setback for the team’s ambitions of securing a spot in the top eight.
Although team captain James Tedesco has received clearance to play after suffering a head injury, Manu is unable to take part due to a grade one hamstring strain he sustained during last week’s victorious match against the Wests Tigers.
The Roosters‘ chances of advancing to the top eight are significantly hampered without the Golden Boot recipient. They must secure a win and rely on favourable results elsewhere. However, Roosters‘ coach Trent Robinson has indicated that Manu could be available if the team advances to the finals.
According to Robinson, Manu is in good form after running the AlterG. But the decision to exclude him from the upcoming match was made on Wednesday.
Robinson expressed, “After the game, there were concerns about a potential hamstring injury. The recovery time required makes it unlikely for him to participate in the match. Therefore, he will not be playing.”
In Manu’s absence, Corey Allan is expected to fill in the position at right centre.
The winner of the impending clash between the Roosters and South Sydney will secure a spot in the top eight. Additionally, the Cowboys also have the chance to knock out the Raiders from seventh position if they beat the Panthers and the Raiders lose to the Sharks on Sunday.
