The NRL Integrity Unit conducted a review of the case and has issued Curran with a breach notice. The notice outlines a proposed two-match suspension and a $10,000 fine for the player.
In addition to these penalties, Curran has been directed to participate in and complete any education and training programs recommended by the NRL. As a result of the breach notice, Curran was withdrawn from the Round 18 match against the Rabbitohs by the Warriors Club.
The NRL intends for this missed match to be counted towards the two-match suspension. However, Curran will still be eligible for selection and participation in the NRL Competition Round 20 match, scheduled to take place on July 16, 2023. The player has been given five business days to respond to the breach notice.
